This is a picture laden blog. There might even be a picture of you. We had our Open House on March 9th and I can’t be more proud. Kristian, Sara, Bernice and Teresa did a fantastic job promoting and organizing the event. The office looks great. We beat our attendance target. What surprised me the most was the energy at the event and how long people stayed to network, chat and learn about new stuff.
Here are some fun pictures. Some are a bit sentimental for me.
A sentimental photo, here we have Juan Lopez (a 20+ year veteran of Alvaka Networks), Yvonne Clemens (a 20+ year client of Alvaka Networks), and Rex Frank our first service manager and now an industry icon in what else… service management.

I love our new Alvaka Networks lobby signage.

A.D. Hall founder, and brain trust behind Public Safety Online, and Juan Lopez go way back. By the looks of it they just cut a deal.

Deals were getting cut everywhere at the open house.

The crowds were everywhere at the Open House. What surprised me beyond the attendance was how long people stayed, the buzz at the event and the great networking that took place.
Pablo, our two friends from Dyntek and Sara.
The Alvaka Networks race car also made its new debut with its new wrap before going off to the SCCA Super Tour and Trans Am races.
Mark Cofano looking as intensely focused as usual. He did a great job presenting the Alvaka Networks Partner Portal and Twist!
Albert spend most of the open house greeting our guests outside as they arrived. Thanks Albert for taking on that solo job.
The sentimental reunion of the great Winson Olson and Company.
The NOC was still a busy place during the NOC and the guys still needed to do the job or monitoring and managing Alvaka client networks during the whole celebration as Roger and Gary are showing here.
Albert greeting our latest arrival.
More hustle and bustle in the AlvakaNOC.
Oli (right) and his SQL superstar buddy Carl Watson of Intersect Consulting.

Two hardworking network engineers, Stevo and Juan, at Alvaka who almost never get to cross paths.
There were a couple of quiet spots to sit down and make a call. Robin found one of them.
Alvaka Sr. Network Engineer Robert also found a quiet place to do some work and meet a deadline.
There is a reward for the best caption for whatever NOC CTO Unnar is thinking in this picture.
Even our friends Charlie and Gabe from CA came to visit.
I like this twilight picture of the Alvaka Networks ThorVette Corvette race car. The Thor emblem is a nice touch. The following weekend the car went on to finish second at the SCCA at the SCCA Super Tour race at WIllow Springs International Raceway.
Ellan from Memorial always brings a smile to our faces. John is proof.
Longtime Alvaka friend on the left is Simplitek founder Tom Mills. To the right of him are Mark Essayian and Fred Bauerfeld of KME Systems.
On the far right is Craig Carter, CEO of Hazard Reduction Systems. He and his crew did a great job demonstrating Isobase hardware that protects computing racks in an earthquake.
Another sentimental picture of Oli with two of his earliest and most instrumental employees Rex Frank left and Bruce Fruchter right. The tall guy to the far left is one of Oli’s long time friends Steve Potter from Jack-in-the-Box corporation.
The conference room was busy non-stop for four hours with PowerPresentations on all sorts of interesting topics. Dave Cunningham, standing, was the emcee.
On the right is DRworx backup and disaster recovery service product manager Jose doing is presentation.
The hosted bar after the event, it sure was a hit.

I don’t know what I was doing in the center of the room, but as usual people are laughing… probably at me and not with me if I know any better.
That looks like a troublesome brew of Alvaka Networks engineering talent.
This is how we know John best… with an effervescent smile. Hanging with him is super-duper Alvaka Networks support Julian. He was an unexpected surprise for the evening. This is a good picture to close on as this is how we all felt at the open house.
